Dr. Gurkirat Kaur Kandola is a 4th year pediatrics resident at the University of British Columbia. She is a first-generation Sikh Canadian who was born and raised in Prince George, BC.

She has a passion for working with undeserved populations and the delivery of rural healthcare. In her spare time, she enjoys doing kirtan, spending time with family and friends, and traveling.
Gurkirat Kaur is excited and honored to be a part of the PKH team.

Pardeep is a Research Coordinator in the Department of Pediatrics at St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto and is currently enrolled in medical school. Her research interests include maternal-child health, with a focus on parenting supports, and refugee and newcomer healthcare.

Pardeep has a breadth of experience in working with community-based service organizations to support program design and delivery.

She is excited to be a part of this initiative to help support children’s health the Punjabi community.

Noor Dhanda is the Social Media/ Content Coordinator for Punjabi Kids’ Health and Our Kids’ Health. Noor is an experienced content creator and also filmmaker.  Noor has been able to work in a diverse realm of production from broadcast and commercials through to film and digital media. Presently, Noor is committed to focusing on building meaningful content for brands and individuals who are community oriented. She is passionate about an array of social issues including mental health and homelessness in Canada. More specifically, Noor’s Punjabi heritage makes her especially connected with social issues surrounding the Punjabi community.

Her goal is to continue to create content and content strategies for organizations like Punjabi Kids’ Health that allow for more accessible information that ultimately results in the dispersement of knowledge and empowerment within marginalized communities.

Dr. Chandandeep Kaur Bal is a resident physician in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. She is a cis-female, Indo-Canadian Sikh who was born and raised in N.E. Calgary. She moved to Toronto for residency after completing medical school at the University of Calgary.

She loves spending her free time outdoors, reading, and travelling. Chandandeep is really excited to be part of the PKH team and to help share accurate and accessible health information with the Punjabi community.

ਡਾ. ਚੰਦਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਬੱਲ, ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਪੀਡਿਐਟ੍ਰਿਕਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੈਜ਼ੀਡੈਂਟ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਇਕ ਇੰਡੋ-ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਸਿੱਖ, ਸਿਸ-ਔਰਤ ਹn, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਦੇ ਨੋਰਥ-ਈਸਟ ਵਿਚ ਸੀ. ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਸਕੂਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਡਾ. ਬੱਲ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਿਡਜ਼ ਹੈਲਥ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਮਿਯੂਨਿਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਹੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਹਨ.

Bhavan was fortunate to join the PKH team in 2021 after she moved to Toronto to start her residency in Pediatrics at Sick Kids Hospital. She moved from British Columbia where she was born and raised. She is proud to live up to the BC stereotype as she enjoys spending her time skiing in the winter and hiking or cycling trails in the summer. She grew up in the rural town of Merritt then completed her BSc in Microbiology at UBC Okanagan in Kelowna. She later completed medical school at UBC in the Southern Medical Program in Kelowna, graduating in 2021. Her experiences with child and youth advocacy in her small home town and later, in Vancouver, BC had inspired Bhavan to focus her advocacy work in the Punjabi and other racialized communities, especially now in the GTA.

Sawinder (also known as “Robin”) has a passion for health promotion, advocacy and health program planning. She has a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Master of Business Administration in Health Services Management from McMaster University.

With over a decade of health administration experience within the public sector in Ontario, Sawinder brings a unique perspective to the Punjabi Kids’ Health team; she is keen to work with PKH to strengthen health literacy skills and improve access to evidence-based health information within the Punjabi diaspora.

Dr. Minhas is a Developmental Paediatrician in the Women’s and Children’s Program at St Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Toronto. His research interests are in the development, behaviour, disability, and rehabilitation of children in urban settings and in newcomer families.

Dr. Minhas completed his training at the University of Toronto’s Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children, and at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland.

He is excited to share his experiences as a father, doctor and member of the community with the Punjabi Kids’ Health family!

Dr. Mandeep Mahal is a fellow in Developmental Paediatrics at the Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children/BC Children’s Hospital.

She has expertise in working with children and families with school difficulties, ADHD, complex developmental and behavioural conditions, autism and mental health challenges.

Dr. Preety Salh (née Dhaliwal) is a Developmental Pediatrician at Sunny Hill Health Centre / BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. She specialises in working with children with complex developmental conditions including Intellectual Disability, Autism, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

Dr. Salh is also a mum to two beautiful little girls – a toddler and a newborn!
